Match Update ..Sunday, 3 July 2005 vs Ale Vasco

Sigh...as I update my blog, it is with mixed emotions. Today, all the players played well, but we were let down by major errors by a few of our players. Although I have always instill the philosophy of winning and losing as a team, I cant but feel let down by a few of our players. I will not go into details, as I am not the type to bad mouth my players. What is sad is that a few players fail to acknowledge their mistake and were rude (in my opinion) to Wak when he pointed out their mistakes. Wak, being passionate about football, was frustrated about the major mistakes that resulted in the opponent equalising and the match ending in a draw (4-4)

As the President, I am responsible for the team. I have to map out what is needed for us to win the league and for the future of the club. I DO NOT CONDONE RUDENESS TO THE OFFICIALS OF THE TEAM, especially to someone who has a vast experience in football such as Wak. Even if these players do not agree with Wak's opinion, at least they could reflect on their mistakes for awhile and not say anything. When the time is right, these players could talk to Wak their side of the story.

Nevertheless, I do feel Wak's anger was warranted. How could it not be when we were domintaing the match. Many of the players felt let down. If there was not enough team spirit within this team, there would definitely be anger and resentment within the squad. Luckily, everybody was willing to forgive and forget about the incident.

To all the other players, obviously you guys played your hearts out. To those who were unable to play the full 80 minutes, do understand the situation the team is in. If we win the league, rest assured that you will have your chance. To Gary, Kourosh and Saw, your time will come....

Lets stick together and focus on our next match. This team have no room for cry babies...this team only have room for men who will pick themselves up and learn from their mistakes, and work hard to amend them.

Have a good Sunday and see you guys in training...

BTW...our 'resident photographer' was unable to make it due to family commitments.
