Training Update...Thursday, 7 July 2005

It was a big contrast from the previous training session. Last week,we had 23 players turning up for training. Today, only 10 players attended the training.

Attendees: Rafi, Botak, Fuad, Fariq, Raimi, Sazali, Richard, Guy, Francis + 2 Nigerians.

At times like this I really wonder whether it was a waste of time to spend money on taxi fare to transport the training equipment, only to have a few turning up. I know most of the players are working or studying, but the level of commitment is evident. Not all of the players absent are working or having classes at that time. Richard, Guy,Botak, Sazali, Fuad and me are also working and rush to attend the training sessions. Though we too are tired from work,we do our best to make it.

We get frustrated when the coach or the senior players shout at us when we make mistakes on the field. Yet, we do not understand that it could have been avoided if we have attended the training sessions. If we take a look at our past matches,we can clearly say that we lost because of our inexperience. We know we can play football and we are not a bad side, but yet we do not attend training sessions to gain more experience and learn more about the game. Remember, it takes 11 players to play the game. If any one does not perform, the team will break down.

To those who have informed me ealier regarding their absence from training, I truly appreciate it. To those who did not attend and did not inform me, I hope you would be more considerate to me and the others.

Anyway, thanks to all who turned up. We really learnt a lot on that day.
