Is it worth it?

You put in commitment and money for the team and sometimes u wonder...is it worth it? Its not a small sum...and its from your own pocket money. You want to build a team, but the players cant commit and have to work to earn money and not attend training. The players dont commit as they need to earn money...i commit myself and I lose money...Sometimes u just wonder...

Really....i think its better to just play an individual game rather than a team game..in this case u need not source for players..u can play at your own time and spend money on yourself rather than others. Its even worse when u see the players whom u have been supporting for the matches starting to leave for greener pastures. Well...maybe they still dont get paid, but at least they dont need to fork out a single cent.

Is it really worth it?? To do all this for the club. I used to think it was. Helping the youngsters to develop their talent in sport and preventing them from mixing with bad company; instilling in them life skills and values which they may not have received from home. But can I do all this alone. Is it truly worth it to do all this and see the people I have helped walk away when I need them most? I really wonder...

But in all truth...I did all this as it was a good thing to do...and I still am doing this cos I love football and I am passionate about this team. Thats why I am still here....even when I sometimes feel its a losing battle....fighting a battle alone...

Yet...in this fight...u gained new friends and gained more experience....and maybe..thats truly worth it...

Friendly Match Report 18 December 2005

We were up against the champions of the tournament ( JV FC). They were like a kampong team, meaning full of support from parents and families. I know they are a very good team, but to me its better that we lose today and make them over confident when they meet us. I have always preferred to be the underdogs.

In the first half, we were down by 3 goals. It was basically the defence fault. With the absence of Raimi and Reza and Fariq, the team played with one stopper and me as last man. Saw played as a stopper and he was totally outplayed by his opponent. As the team in the first half consisted of mainly trialists for the club, the midfield failed to support the back line and it was too much for me and Saw.

In the second half, the team was more stable with the inclusion of Fuad as defensive midfield and Fariq at left back. Though we did not score, the opponent failed to score either.

Overall it was a good match with a worthy opponent. Its time to go back to training.

Training will now be conducted every Tuesday and Thursday. Be there!!

Attendees: Rafi, Botak,Sazali, Yus, Fuad, Fariq, Saw, Tommy,Yazid, Cheang, Sham, Andrei, Bruno, Peter, Kok Leong and friends, Sudin and friends, Zishan, Zahri, Johan.

Confirmed Match - Sunday, 18 December 2005

Hi Guys

We will be having a friendly match on Sunday, 18th of December. The venue is Cantonment field. Cost of friendly match is $80. I will collect the payment before the match.

As I have said, we will be participating in the tournament organised by Silat FC. Details are as follows:

Start of Tournament: Early January
Registration fees: $300

Prize Money: 1st - $2000
2nd - $1000
3rd - $500
4th - $250

For the players who would like to play in the tournament, please pay $20 for the registration fee before the match as I have to settle the registration fees on that day.

Again...I am truly sorry that I am unable to sponsor or find a co-sponsor for the team at the present moment. God willing, maybe a good samaritan like Peter will help us again. For those who are unable to settle the payment, I am afraid I can't settle the payment for you first as past experience have shown that it was a bad financial decision. ( I wont comment further on that)

Players who are keen to play..please email me at rafiano@yahoo.com with your particulars. The team is still open for new players as well. However, as we are looking at winning the prize money, we hope to only select good, quality players with the financial means to pay per match. As I said, I will try to look for another good samaritan and hopefully we can get the best players.

Btw...I would like to take a group photo and issue the trophies to the players.

For further enquiries, sms or call me at 81129549.

Cheers and have a nice day...
