Training Update.. Thursday, 21 July 2005
I was surprised by the number of players who committed themselves to training today. However, it was difficult for Wak to conduct a proper tactical training as he need about 16 players to have demonstrate the tactical movements.
Attendees: Rafi, Botak, Faizal, Fariq, Raimi, Yus, Saw, Francis, Zul, Tommy, Yazid, Naj.
It was really a nice gesture for Yazid and Naj to turn up even they were unable to train. It shows team spirit and support for the team.
We had a meeting and discussed the feasibility of playing for ESPZEN Weekend Morning League Season 2. After getting feedback from the players, we have decided not to particiapte in the tournament but decided instead to focus on team development and training. Faizal has stepped forward as a leader and insisted that we get committed players and train more frequently. I just hope that the other have the same mindset as him.
On the way back, I met with Boy Jasni...he is no longer playing for any club and he says that there are many players in Yishun whom he can recommend to me. He would be an asset to the team, provided Wak would be around to discipline him. He was a skilful footballer and to some, was even better than Rafi Ali, but alas, he made some bad choices in his life. I hope he learns from his past mistakes and lead a new life.
